Paphos is on the West Coast of Cyprus but within reach of the other cities of Cyprus. Some of the local highlights and attractions are shown.
Cyprus is approximately the size of Wales with Paphos to Larnaca being about 150 miles.
Cyprus has a total population of around 1 million.
Currency is the Cyprus Pound with a switch to the Euro proposed to arrive in 2007.

Tombs of the Kings is an ancient
archaeological site just outside of Paphos.

Paphos Harbour
Paphos harbour, as seen from the air, is built on the site site of the original harbour built in Roman times.
The fort contains some ancient mosaics which can be visited.

Paphos Beaches
There are some excellent beaches around Paphos. Coral Bay which is 15km north of Paphos has several small beaches and a small harbour.
For the more adventurous head into the Akamas for unspoilt wilderness and some quiet beaches. Some of the beaches of Western Cyprus attract turtles. Notices are posted on beaches where nesting happens.
